Hisar

Hisar ( ‍हिसार/ ਹਿਸਾਰ), previously spelled as Hissar, is a city in the state of Haryana, in northwestern India, and it is also headquarters of Hisar District. Hisar was founded as Hissar-e-Firoza by Firoz Shah Tughlaq. , on the demolished ruins of an existing prosperous Hindu and Jain city of Iksaru.The word Hisar derives from a Turkish word meaning "Fortress".
